Personal Watch Guard

We arrived at Mr. T's, which turned out to be a pretty decent apartment. The only issue is that our apartment is not in the 'nice' part of Bukoto. In fact, one side of the apartment looks at the nice part of Bukoto, a walled ex-pat area, while our apartment appears to be smack dab in the middle of the slums. Aside from that though, the apartment is brand new and we don't think anybody has stayed in it before. In fact, the entire building is vacent. We even have our own personal watch guard/homeless guy lurking at the bottom of the stairs up to our apartment to make sure nobody 'shady' tries to come and get us!

We woke up on Saturday and called Des (our caretaker) to come and talk to us. We asked him why a bum was lurking at the bottom of the stairs in the dark and jumped out at Jeanah and Whitney demanding to know who they were and he gave us an answer we should have known:

Jeanah 'Mama' Hong - "Why is there a homeless man at the bottom of the stairs"
Des - "That guy is your guard, and obviously"
'Mama' - "Why was he lurking in the shadows"
Des - "I told him to do that so nobody would see him"

Des - "Would you like your locks changed"
Jeanah - "Yes please"

We now have super duper locks, and considering our guard was sleeping on the job tonight, we feel very safe. Especially since we have moved one of the wicker chairs and the tub of peanutbutter to block the door in casesomebody 'shady' is able to get by him.

Since we have been here for over 24 hours now, we wanted to give a quick description of the apartment. The apartment is located on the 3rd floor of the vacent building. We have 2 bedrooms, each with double decker beds, and one with a second single. The top bunk has a ladder that is made for a small child so it's been interesting trying to gracefully move in and out of that bed. We also have a living/dining room and a huge kitchen. As mentioned previously, all furniture in the apartment is brand new. This includes a TV with a sticker still on it, and 8 channels, all showing the same thing with no sound. We also have 2 bathrooms, each with a large shower. In fact the showers are the same size at the bathrooms, because they are the bathrooms.
