Tanning at the office? Never!

We never know what to expect on a normal day at the CARE office. Last week our project and faculty sponsor were both in town, so we decided to have a meeting. The treehouse was full and we needed a place to meet so the CARE Uganda team set us up in the only other available meeting space...on the grass under the volleyball net. (See Picture) Classic. At one point we were discussing the scope of our project with our sponsor, Whitney's papers starting flying everywhere, and Jess had to stand up and run away because she had sat on an ant hill. Professionallism abounds. Lisa had to tell Jeanah to put her shirt back on, and that suntanning at the office was not part of the Ugandan culture. Meanwhile, Courtney was thinking about where to buy a volleyball so we could play during our next team "meeting".

Luckily there is wireless on the volleyball court, unlike the offices CARE sits us in. We got really excited when we saw what seemed to be an internet hub from 1993. We only recognized it because we had spotted on similar on LOST. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the Dharma user manual, and when we plugged the hub in, sparks started flying. During the meeting, Whitney, the "Team Leader" was given a formal meeting acceptance on watermarked, heavy weight linen paper confirming a meeting that Angela had requested 3 weeks ago via hand delivered currier. Unfortunately this meeting is now out of the scope of our project so we cancelled it via Morse Code.
